Harmon’s Happenings
AUG/SEPT-2008
We are off to a GREAT start. August has been a busy month so far! We have been learning about routines, songs, getting acquainted, behavioral expectations and learning how to be a 2nd grader. Our grade level has been assessing our second grade students with MAP testing, DRAII Reading and Math assessment so that we may place your chiild in the best possible situation for optimum learning.
During September we will be learning about Maps and Globes, Communities and Seed Travel. During the month of October/Nov. Mrs. Tejan will be teaching and supporting us in our Colonial Unit. We will all be choosing a "Trade" that we would like to become an expert on that was a part of the Colonial Days i.e. candlemaker, blacksmith, apothecary, teacher. We are looking forward to our Colonial Day with Ms. Elliot on October 23rd. We will be going back in time to the Colonial Days and finding out what it was truly like to live during that time. We will be making crafts, sampling colonial food and playing the games they played. It will be a great day for all!
