 Welcome to Ms. Davis' Classroom

Hopefully many of you were able to read my introductory letter at Sneek-A-Peek.  I have been thrilled to get to know your children.  We have a wonderful class this year and I am really excited to be with them.  Our character trait that we are working on is Self -Control .    (Managing your behavior in a positive way.)  I can tell that many of you have already taught this trait to your children because they are setting wonderful examples.

The best way for youto help your child during this year is to read to them nightly, paly games with them at home, and to give them as many experiences as possible to make positive choices.

The past two weeks in reading we have focused on the letter P,M, H, W, and  .  The sight words that have been introduced are a, I, love, and stop.  Have your children look for these letters and words when they are reading with you.

In Math we are learning our calendar routines and the names of shapes.  New names that are not common the the children are trapezoid and rhombus(otherwise known as the diamond).

A big congratulations to Madelynn!  She received our first character triat award for Self-Control.  I must admit it is so hard to give out these awards because they are all doing so wonderfully.
