Busy Bee Themes
We are very excited about our next unit! The children will be learning about the "Rainforest". We will learn about many of the animals that live in the rainforest and how several of these animals are endangered as well as the rainforest themselves. We'll introduce some of the plant life and learn about the rainforest's environment. As we go through many of our units this year we hope to expose the children to the "bigger world" around them. At the same time, our goal will be to for the children to make connections with the classroom themes and their familiar surroundings.
We have spent the last few weeks introducing the children to the sounds of the letters. We will now begin to introduce a letter each week, this week we will be working on the letter F,f.
Books: Buterflies, Owls, Find it in a Rainforest, and Ten Little Speckled Frogs, are some of the stories we will be reading this week.
Art: Paper plate frogs, owls, snakes, and favorite rainforest animals with shaving cream.
Small Groups: Practice writing letter F,f, counting frogs, lacing butterflies, introduce letter E,e using blocks and playdough.
