 Meet Mrs. Tejan

Hello! My name is Mrs. Sally Tejan and I am the teacher/librarian at Sandburg. I have the great pleasure of getting to know all the students at our school, pre-k to fifth grade. I enjoy reading wonderful children's literature and teaching students research skills as I learn together with them about  poetry, biography, the ocean, mammals, insects, caribou, Colonial America, endangered animals, natural disasters, the human body systems, Presidents, the Civil War and many other fascinating topics! I enjoy working with the students to help them improve their reading and writing skills and integrate technology for instruction, research, and the production of final products.

The Sandburg staff and community value our wonderful library and the importance of Information Literacy Instruction. Our library is a hopping place! In addition to days filled with story times, book talks, research, and the integration of technology, our library annually hosts a Scholastic Book Fair in the Fall, an Author Visit in the Winter, and a "Scoop for a Scoop" Reading Incentive over Spring Break.

Even though I was raised in Pennsylvania and lived in Chicago for many years, my family has considered Colorado and Littleton home for the past 28 years.  I received a BA in English from Williams College in Williamstown, MA and a MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado at Denver. My husband Walt and I have 2 daughters who attended Littleton Public Schools and even attended elementary school at Sandburg! Littleton Public Schools and Sandburg are very dear to my heart and I feel fortunate to be teaching in this district and at this school.
